April 2005

Seton Catholic’s Jason George went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI as the Eagles opened Wyoming Valley Conference play with a 16-1 win over MMI Prep.

George combined with Sean Rooney on a one-hit shutout over four innings. Freshman catcher TJ Melone made his debut with two hits, two runs and three RBI.

April 1995

The Wyoming Area boys tennis team runed in a 4-3 win over Pittston Area in a battle of Greater Pittston.

The difference was the No. 3 doubles team of Tom LaSota and Fred Bohn. The duo beat Pittston Area’s Dave Kolmansperger and Mark Naples, 6-4, 6-2.

Another pivotal match was the No. 2 singles between Wyoming Area’s Burt Chase and Pittston Area’s Ryan Salvo. Chase edged Salvo.

April 1985

The Pittston Area Booster Club captured first place honors in the Angelo Marcinco Basketball Tournament by defeating Wyoming Area Booster Club, 74-57, in the championship game.

In the consolation game, Tri-Boro Club trimmed Seton Catholic Men’s Club, 67-60. Pat Walker scored 18 points to lead Pittston Area to the championship, while Bob Cella’s 16 points led Wyoming Area.

April 1975

The winners of the 1975 JFK Knights of Columbus, Pittston, Tom Redding Bowling Tournament received their trophies.

James A. Rooney was the scratch division winner, while Frank Amantea was the handicap division winner.
