HUGHESTOWN — The good news is Pittston Area has been able to play on its home court since the beginning of the tennis season. The bad news, however, the Patriots had to start last week against two Wyoming Valley Conference powerhouses – Crestwood and Wyoming Seminary.

The Patriots fell to Crestwood, 4-1, on Monday and lost to Wyoming Seminary, 5-0, on Wednesday.

Pittston Area’s only win of the season thus far has come from No. 1 singles player Christian Charney. Charney took down Crestwood’s Keelan Tollinger, 6-3, 6-4 in the opening match of the season.

The doubles team of James Galonis and Nick Alfano gave Crestwood’s Jason Dotzel and Nick Gavio all they could handle on Monday. Galonis and Alfano won the first set in a 5-7 tiebreaker, but fell in the last two.

Pittston Area will get back to the courts on Tuesday when it hosts Wyoming Valley West.
