PITTSTON —The next Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9 at the Pittston Memorial Library.

TAG members are considered volunteers of the library and help plan teen library events. Some past TAG-sponsored events are game nights, library flash mobs, scavenger hunts, and Wii Game Fests. TAG is open to all teens in grades 6-12. New members are welcome and we meet the second Thursday of every month.

Between Sunday, April 12 and Saturday, April 18 bring overdue and unbilled books back and fines will be waived.

An evening story time will be held on Tuesday, April 13 open to all children in the community age 2 to 7. Reading will be the book “Number One Sam” and there will be activities that correspond to the book. Call the library to register.

The unclaimed property search for Frugal Living will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13. During the evening, the staff will do a search for money for patrons on the database. If there is any money to claim, the staff will print the forms and make any copies needed. This is a free service offered to the public.

Storytime for be held at 10 a.m. for toddlers and 11:30 a.m. for preschoolers on Wednesday, April 14.

The Jean Yates Award Dinner honoring volunteer Mary Virginia Augello will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 at the Gramercy Restaurant. Call the library for more information.

Kids in grades 2-5 are welcome to come to the library for Science Club, which will meet again at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 16. The club will perform fun experiments using the simple scientific method. Call the library to register.

The next Teen Reading Lounge will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 18.

Kids grade 2 to 5 are welcome to come to the library at 11 a.m. on April 18 at for Page Turners Book Club. The book “The Secret Garden” will be discussed and the group will do an activity based on the book and have a snack. New members are welcome and encouraged to check out the latest selection at the library. Kids are invited to come by and pick up the book at the library.

The grandparents coalition will meet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 at the library.

Kids from 5 to 11 are invited to come to the library for a fun and interactive way to volunteer for the community through Kids Care Club. The next meeting is Thursday, April 23. The group will continue making toy bags for the local toy bank. Call the library for more information.

The adult book club will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 27.

Kids in grades 2 through 5 are welcome to come to the library for Art Club at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7. The group will make seasonal decorations and fun projects. Call the library to register.

Kids ages 3 to 11 are invited to the Lego Club, which is held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program at the library is free and open to all children in the community from birth to kindergarten. The child will receive a bag with an age appropriate book in it to keep in his or her collection.

Homework help is offered from 3 to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday for children in grades 1-5. All subjects are available.

The Crochet Club meets at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. The club donated a large basket of handmade items to be raffled off this month. Tickets are $1.
