Dudzik

PLAINS TWP. — A woman from Wilkes-Barre released from jail last month after posting bail on charges she assaulted a city police officer with a syringe was arraigned Monday on allegations she robbed a convenient mart on Saturday.

Township police charged Kristen Dudzik, 32, last known address as North Franklin Street, with robbing Donna’s Convenient Mart on River Street just before 6 p.m.

Police said Dudzik entered the store and kept her hands in pockets as she demanded cash from a clerk. Dudzik allegedly told the clerk a person in a pickup truck outside was making her rob the store, police said.

Dudzik fled in a black Chevy Z71 pickup truck that was stopped by city police on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard near Coal Street on Sunday. Police said $205 was found hidden in Dudzik’s groin area.

Dudzik was arraigned on charges of robbery and theft filed by township police. City police charged Dudzik with fleeing or attempting to elude police, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 total bail.

Township police further charged Kayla Rose Ragugini, 24, of Plains Township, with criminal conspiracy to commit robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit theft for her alleged role in the robbery at Donna’s Convenient Mart. She was jailed at the county correctional facility for lack of $1,000 bail.

Court records say Dudzik was released from the county correctional facility when she posted $20,000 bail through a bail bondsman on March 18.

Dudzik is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, defiant trespass, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and possession of a small amount of marijuana for an incident inside a Sherman Hills apartment building on Oct. 22.

A city police officer encountered Dudzik in a hallway where she overdosed on drugs. She refused to remove her hands from her purse and struggled with the officer, who was stuck with an uncapped syringe with blood inside the needle, the complaint says.
