Crestwood running back/linebacker Frank Aigeldinger has been added to the East roster for next month’s Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association East-West All Star game.
The game will be played 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Downingtown High School. The contest has been played annually since 2001 with the exception of 2011. Tickets are $8.
Aigeldinger will be joined on the East by two other Wyoming Valley Conference representatives. Berwick receiver Andrew Force is part of the roster, while Wyoming Valley West head coach Pat Keating will serve as an assistant. The West team will also have a WVC presence as Jersey Shore’s Tom Gravish, former head coach at Williamsport, will run the team.
Other District 2 players listed on the East roster are: Abington Heights tight end Joe Arcangelo; Abington Heights lineman Chase Wickenheiser; Dunmore lineman Dan Drewes; and Scranton Prep receiver Dan Ryan.
Aigeldinger is coming off an excellent season where he was named the Times Leader Player of the Year and to the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class 3A All-State team. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Bloomsburg University recruit rushed for program-record 2,150 yards and 26 touchdowns, averaging 10.9 yards per carry. He finishes his high school career as Crestwood’s all-time leading rusher with 4,499 yards. As a linebacker, he made 148 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and five sacks.
Force will play at Fordham University this fall. The 6-3, 210-pounder paced Berwick in receptions this season, catching 22 passes for 423 yards and five touchdowns. He was a WVC Big School all-star selection.
Arcangelo (Bucknell), Wickenheiser (Cornell) and Ryan (Colgate) have also made their college decisions.
