It looks like the rain will stick around the Wyoming Valley leading right up to the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 43 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Mostly cloudy skies kicked off the day, and the rain isn’t too far behind.

Rain will be likely between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m today, with up to a quarter of an inch of rain possible. Today’s high will be near 41 degrees.

Cloudy skies will start off the evening tonight, followed by rain likely between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is predicted, and tonight’s low will be around 37 degrees.

Cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and Thursday’s high will be near 43 degrees.

Showers will be likely before midnight on Thursday night, followed by the possibility of a thunderstorm into the overnight hours. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, but more rainfall amounts are possible in any potential thunderstorms. Thursday night’s low will be near 43 degrees.

Showers will be likely after 8 a.m. on Friday, along with the possibility of thunderstorms. Rainfall prediction amounts have not been listed at this time. Friday’s high will be near 68 degrees.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms will linger around before 8 p.m. on Friday night, followed by a chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Friday night’s low will be around 45 degrees.
