“Furious 7” grossed $143.6 million at the box office in its opening weekend and Dave Crisenzo of Scranton wants a piece of the pie.
The 21-year-old, who is enrolled in three online classes at DeVry University, appeared on “The Today Show’s” fourth hour with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford to break the news Tuesday morning.
“I’m the son of Paul Walker. Him and my mom hooked up at Coachella in the ’90s and my mom had me five months later. I was premature,” Crisenzo said.
He claimed his mother couldn’t get in touch with Walker to inform him because not everybody had cell phones back then. Crisenzo said his mother then revealed that Ernie from “Sesame Street” wasn’t his father.
She revealed the truth when Crisenzo came out of the closet in high school and started hanging up pictures of Walker on his bedroom wall.
“‘That’s your real dad. I wouldn’t keep shirtless pictures of him on the wall,’ my mom said to me. So I took the pictures down,” Crisenzo said.
Gifford asked Crisenzo if he felt he was owed any of Walker’s money.
“I’m his son. I should have his money. I should be able to live the same life he lived; buying fast cars, nice clothes and lots of Kit Kat bars,” he said.
“Kit Kat bars?” Gifford asked.
“Umm, yes. Kit Kat bars are the best. Are you drunk?” Crisenzo asked.
“Yes, she is. And she’s on pills,” Kotb said.
“And I’m wetting myself as I speak. What’s wrong with me?” Gifford said.
Walker’s family has yet to respond to Crisenzo’s claim, but Carly Rae Jepsen did send him a Tweet that read, “Saw u on @today UR hot. I don’t care if you like boys. Call me, maybe?”
Crisenzo has a date with Jepsen this weekend at SkyZone Indoor Trampoline Park in Scranton.
Unless he gets his hands on Walker’s fortune, it seems both of them will likely be too broke to pay for the night out.
