Penn State Hazleton physical therapy assistant students organized a ‘Stick it to Homelessness’ fundraiser to benefit a homeless rehabilitation program in Schuykill County. The group charged one dollar for a strip of duct tape to secure Rose Petrilla, senior instructor in physical therapy and program coordinator, to the wall. They raised $125 in 40 minutes. They also set up collection boxes around campus to gather coats, scarves, hats, gloves, sweaters and hand warmers for the homeless shelter. Other physical therapy assistant students also participated in service projects, including the Helping Hands Society of Hazleton, the Diamond Bread Basket food ministry at Diamond United Methodist Church, the Blue Chip Animal Rescue Shelter, Holy Family Academy and the Wounded Warrior Project. Some of the participants, from left, first row, are Nicole Green and Tracy Blankenhorn. Second row: Ashley Hoak, Steva Danish, Petrilla and Samantha Keifer.
