WILKES-BARRE — Wilkes University will hold a lecture looking at the similarities between Presidents Barack Obama and Richard Nixon on Thursday.
Andrew J. Polsky, Professor of Political Science and Acting Ruth and Harold Newman Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Hunter College, City University of New York, will explore the connections during the lecture. It will take place in Breiseth Hall, Room 106, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public
Entitled “Inheriting a Bad War: Richard Nixon and Barack Obama,” the lecture will examine and compare both the Nixon and Obama administrations, and include observations about contemporary issues surrounding Syria, Iraq and the extremist rebel group ISIS.
The event is being presented by Wilkes’ chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society.
