Courtney Hummel reached base on one error and scored on another to provide visiting Berwick with the winning run in the top of the seventh inning, lifting the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory over Wyoming Valley West.
Moriah Lynn earned the victory in the circle by limiting the Spartans to one run in the fourth inning during her complete-game victory.
Freshman Kylie Levan had a double for one of Berwick’s two hits.
Chloe Ruckle took the loss for the Spartans despite surrendering just one earned run while pitching the two-hitter. Audi Welles had a double for Valley West.
Hanover Area 11, Meyers 2
Karly Bennett accounted for five runs and Emily Elick and Emily Zagami each had three hits to spark the Hawkeyes.
Bennett had a double among her two hits, drove home three runs and scored twice. Elick added three singles and an RBI to the victory, while Zagami went 3 for 4.
For Meyers, Sarah Smith drove home two runs and Brittany Delcastillo scored one.
Wyoming Area 6, Dallas 1
The Warriors scored five runs in the first two innings and never looked back.
Bree Bednarski was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Jules Scappaticci went 2 for 2 and Kristi Skok went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Gwen Glatz tripled and picked up the win in the circle going seven innings and giving up five hits while striking out five batters.
Talia Szatkowski went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Dallas.
Hazleton Area 4, Crestwood 0
Samantha Varela went the distance for a five-hit shutout, striking out three for the Cougars. Abby Sachse doubled and Celine Podlesney had two hits.
Sydney Sobolewski and Collen Borum had two hits apiece for the Comets.
