DALLAS — Shawnee Fort Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to welcome new member Meghan Maccarone, who is also a current member of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR).

Maccarone lives in Sweet Valley and is currently attending Misericordia University. Her patriot is Ishmael Bennett who served locally under Capt. John Franklin.

Maccarone joins her Mother Ellen King Maccarone in the chapter. Ellen’s patriot is Joseph Ruggles who, along with several of his sons, served the state of CT locally during the American Revolution.

Shawnee Fort Chapter DAR is very active in local community events, historic preservation and supports the CAR. The chapter currently has 54 members and prospective members are welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings. The group’s next meeting is May 16.
