The local gas average jumped by 2 cents overnight.

AAA Mid-Atlantic provided the following figures for today’s average gas prices in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and nationwide:

• Wilkes-Barre area gas average at $2.52 today, up 2 cents overnight and up 2 cents in the last week. Diesel at $3.16 today, unchanged overnight.

• Pennsylvania gas average at $2.54 today, unchanged overnight and up a penny in the last week. Diesel at $3.21 today, unchanged overnight.

• National gas average at $2.39 today, unchanged overnight, up a penny in the last week. Diesel at $2.78 today, down a penny overnight.
