Krysta Marie Carpenter and Anthony Edward Pero were united in the sacrament of marriage in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, by the Very Rev. Michael Zipay.

The bride is the daughter of James and Mary Carpenter, Scranton. She is the granddaughter of the late Peter and Elsie Carpenter, Scranton, and the late David and Dorothy Lewis, Scranton.

The groom is the son of Anthony and Janice Pero, Swoyersville. He is the grandson of the late Anthony and Bertha Pero, Luzerne, and the late Edward and Millie Machinist, Kingston.

The bride was given away in marriage by her parents. She chose her friend, Katie Marino, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Brenda Carpenter, sister-in-law of the bride; Janicemarie Lipinski and Jennifer Pero, sisters of the groom; Abigail Pero, niece of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Jessica Carpenter, niece of the bride.

The groom chose his friend, Gerard Durling, as his best man. Groomsmen were James Carpenter Jr, brother of the bride; Joe Lipinski, brother-in-law of the groom; Vince and Anthony Griseto, friends of the groom. Junior groomsman was Jimmy Carpenter, nephew of the bride.

Flower girl was Ireland Wynn, friend of the bride. Ring bearers were Joey and Nicholas Lipinski, nephew of the groom.

Readings were given by Dianne Machinist, aunt of the groom, and Mary Griseto, friend of the groom.

An evening cocktail hour and reception was held at Best Western East Mountain Inn & Suites, Wilkes-Barre.

The bride is a graduate of Bishop Hannan High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Marywood University. She is employed by Evergreen Behavioral Intervention for Children, Luzerne.

The groom is a graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School and attended Luzerne County Community College. He is employed by Network Solutions, Drums.

Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple resides in Avoca.
