Brendan Scott Gibbons and Westyn Layne Hinchey exchanged wedding vows Oct. 22, 2016, in Boulder’s Central Park, Colorado. Regina Blewitt Aposhian, Dunmore, officiated the 5:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Sharon Hinchey, Kingston. The groom is the son of Mark and Pam Gibbons, Grand Junction, Colorado.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Michael Hinchey. She chose her sister, Collyn Hinchey, Kingston, as her maid of honor.
The groom chose his brother, Kyle Gibbons, Fort Collins, Colorado, as his best man. Katie Haggerty James, Dunmore; and Kathleen Elizabeth Bolus, Scranton; friends of the couple, both gave readings during the ceremony.
The bride and groom met while the groom was covering a story for the Scranton Times-Tribune, where he was the environment reporter.
The bride graduated from Scranton Preparatory School in 1997 and Boston College in 2001 with a B.A. in communications and marketing. She is the director of public relations and digital marketing for the Institute for Women’s Health and the Advanced Fertility Center, San Antonio.
The groom graduated in 2008 from Grand Junction High School and from the University of Missouri in 2013 with a B.S. in environmental journalism. He is the environment reporter for the San Antonio Express-News.
The couple, who will honeymoon in Europe, resides in San Antonio, Texas.
