Shelley Procopio and Daniel Gaydon were united in marriage Sept. 24, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Plains, by the Reverend Joseph Greskiewicz.

The bride is the daughter of Francis and Lucille Procopio, of Wilkes-Barre. She is the granddaughter of the late Francis and Thomasina Procopio and the late Carlo and Rose Tutini.

The groom is the son of Kenneth and Josephine Gaydon, of Coal Township. He is the grandson of Lewis Gaydon and the late Betty Gaydon and the late Ralph and Mary Muccari.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose her best friend, April (Jones) Domanski as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Samantha Evans and Nicole Traeger, friends of the bride; Jenna Ledoretti, cousin of the bride; and Ivy Gaydon, sister-in-law of the groom. Celia Kelley, a family friend, served as flower girl.

The groom chose his cousin, Andrew Zurick, as best man. Groomsmen were Kenny Gaydon and Stephen Gaydon, brothers of the groom; Steven Procopio, brother of the bride; and James Kelley, friend of the groom. The groom’s nephews, Jackson and Colin Gaydon, served as ring bearers.

Scriptural readings were given by Donna Ushinski and Tom Procopio, godparents of the bride. The offertory gifts were presented by Kenny and Ivy Gaydon. Liturgical music was provided by Aviva Strings and organist Jill Antall, with soloist Jessica Starcher.

The bride was honored at a bridal shower hosted by her mother and the mother of the groom at the Holiday Inn at East Mountain. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the bride and groom at the Café, Plains Township. An evening cocktail hour and reception were held at Via Appia, Taylor.

Shelley is a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and psychology from King’s College and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University. She is employed as the pharmacy manager for Cardinal Health at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital, in Wilkes-Barre.

Daniel is a graduate of Lourdes Regional High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University. He is employed as the director of finance for Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and resides in Plains with their two cats, Vivian and Oliver.
