Ashley D. Sugalski, Bridgewater, New Jersey, and John F. Prater, M.D. Dallas, were united in marriage June 10, 2017, at the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas, where the groom’s grandfather, the late Reverend John S. Prater, was rector for 35- years. Pastor David Martin and Father Joseph Rafferty officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rebeta, New Jersey and Mr. Wesley Sugalski, New Jersey. She is the granddaughter of John and Dolores Howard, New Jersey.

The groom is the son of Dr. John M. and Susan Prater, Dallas. He is the grandson of Frank and Jean Catina, Forty Fort; Ingrid Prater, Dallas and the late Reverend John S. Prater.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose her friend, Lauren Pristash as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Colleen Sugalski, sister of the bride; Brittany Zaruta and Emily Prater, sisters of the groom; Cara Stramaglia and Rebecca Rittle, friends of the bride. Flower girl was Bella Bjornson, niece of the bride.

The groom chose his friend, Scott Skammer as best man. Groomsmen were Douglas Zaruta, M.D. brother-in-law of the groom; Christopher Prater, cousin of the groom; Jack Ellis, Eric Bucklew, M.D. and Jonathan Ragheb, M.D., all friends of the groom. Ring bearers were the groom’s cousins, Micaiah, Caleb and Aaron Hughes.

The reading was given by Samela Brown, friend of the bride.

The bride was honored at a bridal shower held at Woodstone Golf Club, Danielsville. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Irem Temple Country Club, Dallas. An evening cocktail hour and reception were held at the Westmoreland Club, Wilkes Barre. Michele Millington, former piano teacher of the groom, played during the cocktail hour.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Immaculata High School, New Jersey. She graduated in 2014 cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical studies and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies in 2015, both from King’s College. She is employed as a physician assistant at UPMC Mercy in Orthopedic Surgery.

The groom is a 2009 graduate of Dallas Senior High School. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from King’s College in 2013. He earned his doctor of medicine degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 2017, where he is a member of the AOA Medical Honor Society. The groom is employed by the UPMC St. Margaret Hospital where he is completing his family medicine residency.

The couple reside in Pittsburgh.
