Schmoll, Nilon united in marriage

Brandilynn Marie Schmoll and Patrick John Nilon were united in marriage on June 17, 2017, by the Rev. Shawn Walker at an outdoor ceremony at Glenmaura National Golf Club, Moosic.

The bride is the daughter of the late Charles Schmoll Jr. and Maryann Schmoll, of Sugar Notch. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bleich, of Hanover Township, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schmoll Sr., of Hanover Township.

The groom is the son of William and MaryAnn Nilon, of Ashley. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Nilon, of Ashley, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cybuck, of Ashley.

The bride chose her sister, Brittlynn Schmoll as maid of honor, and Annie Andriola as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Colleen Macko and Shannon Zurawski, sisters of the groom; and Brandice Blihar, Heather Scarboro, Mary Beth Sharkey and Tara Sokola. The couple’s dog, Piper, was the flower girl, and dog Barkley was the dog of honor.

The groom chose his brother, Mark Nilon, as his best man. Groomsmen were, Bill Nilon and Mark Nilon, brothers of the groom; Charles Schmoll, brother of the bride; Matthew Centak, Jamie Murgalis and David Simonovich. Ring bearers were Brayden Nilon, Evan Nilon and Ryder Zurawski, nephews of the groom.

The bride and groom were honored at an outdoor engagement party given by the mother of the bride. The bride was honored at a Kentucky Derby themed bridal shower given by her mother at her home. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Rodano’s. Following the ceremony, the couple celebrated with an evening cocktail hour and dinner reception at Glenmaura National Golf Club, with entertainment provided by the Insiders Band. An after party was held at the Marriot Hotel in the outdoor courtyard.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Hanover Area High School and a 2006 graduate of East Stroudsburg University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education. She is employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District as a special education teacher.

The groom is 2000 graduate of Hanover Area High School. He graduated from his five-year apprentice program in 2009 and is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 163 Wilkes-Barre.

The couple honeymooned at the Iberostar Grand Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They reside in Wilkes-Barre with their two dogs, Barkley and Piper. They are expecting their first child in July 2018.
