Brooke Elaine Mazur, of Alpharetta, Ga., and Cody James Plesnar, of Dallas, were united in marriage on April 20, 2018 in Eagle River, Alaska. The ceremony was officiated by Matthew Oberlander, of Heart of the City Church, Anchorage.
The bride is the daughter of Kirsten Rappa, of Statesboro, Ga., and Brendan Mazur, of Alpharetta, Ga. She is the granddaughter of retired LTC Charles K. Reber and Pattie Reber, and Loretta Mazur and the late Sylvester Mazur.
The groom is the son of Steven and Leslie Plesnar, of Dallas. He is the grandson of Anna Plesnar, of Dallas, the late Edward Plesnar, and the late Ronald and Patricia Thomas.
A simple outdoor wedding ceremony was performed before God and his beautiful creation on a cold and windy Alaskan spring day. Brooke and Cody recited their vows to one another and proclaimed the scripture verse from Ruth 1:16 to each other; “Where you go I will go, where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God,” as well as Proverbs 27:17; “As iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another.”
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Covenant Christian Academy and a 2014 Graduate of the University of North Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. She is a 1st lieutenant in the United States Army and is stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
The groom is a 2010 graduate of Dallas High School and a 2014 Graduate of Shippensburg University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. He is a captain in the United States Army and also stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
Following a honeymoon on the Big Island in Hawaii, the couple now resides in Anchorage, Alaska, perusing opportunities to continue serving their country and their lord and savior Jesus Christ.
