Karavis, Levulis united in marriage

Mr. John William Karavis and Dr. Shelly Ann Levulis were united in marriage on April 28, 2018, at St. Faustina Catholic Church, Nanticoke, with the Rev. James Nash officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lorree Levulis, of Nanticoke, and the late John Kubish, of Edwardsville.

The groom is the son of Helen Karavis, of Plymouth.

The bride was escorted by her mother and chose her twin sister, Shannon Metzgar, and her sister, Jackie Moran, as her matrons of honor. She chose Dr. Jan Golden and Jean Marie Lippolis along with Kimberly Ide and Katie Moran, nieces of the bride, as bridesmaids. Sarah Metzgar, niece of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid. Christopher Metzgar and Kyleigh Metzgar, nephew and niece of the bride, served as the ring bearer and flower girl.

The groom chose Brian Dubaskas as his best man. Pat Hogan, Michael Shusta, Rodger Sims and Paul “Buddy” O’Malia along with Richard Metzgar, brother-in law of the bride, served as groomsmen.

Scripture readings were recited by Deborah Popovich and Susan Dubaskas at the ceremony.

A bridal shower, was hosted by the mother of the bride at The Wyoming Valley Country Club, Wilkes-Barre. The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Perugino’s Restaurant, Luzerne.

The bride is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College and her doctorate from Temple University School of Podiatry. She is a practicing podiatrist with offices in Dallas and Edwardsville.

The groom is a graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from King’s College. He is employed by Citizens Bank as relationship manager.

An evening cocktail hour and reception were held at the Westmoreland Club, Wilkes-Barre. The newlyweds honeymooned in Grenada, British West Indies, and currently reside in Dallas.
