Kaitlyn Mary Jones and Jesse James Van Orden were united in the sacrament of marriage on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2014, in St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, by the Rev. Monsignor Joseph Raucher.
The bride is the daughter of Patricia Hirthler Jones and the late Thomas P. Jones, Wilkes-Barre. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hirthler, Wilkes-Barre, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jones.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Van Orden, Laflin.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Harold Hirthler, as well as her brother, Thomas Jones Jr. She chose her sister, Alyssa Jones, as her maid of honor and the groom’s sister, Danielle Van Orden, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were her cousins, Meghan M. Frail, Mary Elizabeth Hirthler and Jennifer Mioduski.
The groom chose his brother-in-law, Corey Larson, as his best man. Groomsmen were Thomas P. Jones, John A. Mutarelli IV, Marty McGlynn and Willaim Wambolt.
Readings were given by Loretta Van Orden and Michael J. Hirthler. The gift bearers were Jane Ann Frail, Kathleen Hirthler and John A. Mutarelli III. Cantor was Martha Zabriski. Musicians were Edward Lock, organist; Lynn Hurst, violinist; and David Allumni, trumpeter.
An engagement party was held at the Westmoreland Club hosted by the Hirthler family. A bridal shower was hosted by the bridal attendants at the East Mountain Inn. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal party at Rodano’s. The mother of the bride hosted an evening reception at the East Mountain Inn.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of GAR Memorial High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in radiology from Misericordia in 2009. She is employed in the CAT Scan Department at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of King’s College. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and sociology. He is employed as a federal police lieutenant.
The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia and Inner Harbor, Maryland. They reside in Springbrooke Township, Pennsylvania.
